Born in 1950 and   raised in Rethymnon-Crete (Greece), I entered the Dental School of Athens   in 1968   from which graduated   in 1973. After   a long   military service and a period of postgraduate studies in London, I started my private dental practice in Athens in 1977 and   my academic career in 1981 as a   lecturer   at   the University of Athens, in the department of Operative Dentistry. I took my Doctor degree in Dentistry in 1986, elected as Assistant Professor in 1989 and as Associate Professor   in 1999.          

  I continually serve and teach Operative Dentistry at the University of Athens,   with my special interests focused   in General Dentistry, Pedodontics, Dental Statistics, Dental Materials, Clinical Diagnosis,   Dental Color,   Dental   Esthetics   and Dental Informatics. I have published many articles in Greek and foreign dental magazines on the above areas and have presented many important issues in congresses in Greece and abroad. I am a co-writer of   the book Operative Dentistry I and II for dental students, a co-writer of the book Guide to Preclinical Exercises in Operative Dentristry for dental students, a co-writer of the book Four-Hand Dentistry for dental students and dental assistants, and the writer of the book Dental Informatics for dental students and professionals. I am the director of preclinical education in Operative Dentistry and editor in chief of the Hellenic Dental Journal, since 1992.
